The Lawn Care
Quote Checklist

Scope the work, build a repeatable price, and send a quote your customer can understand.

A clear quote starts with a clear scope. Use this checklist before you send a price, then keep your notes so recurring work stays consistent.

01 / WALK THE PROPERTY

Notice what changes the work.

Confirm the customer's priorities and look for details that affect the visit.

  • Which areas need service, and which should be left alone?
  • Check gates, access, slopes, trees, beds, and other obstacles.
  • Note current lawn condition and any areas needing extra attention.
  • Ask about pets, preferred timing, and property-specific instructions.
02 / DEFINE THE SCOPE

Say what is included.

Make the work specific enough that you and the customer picture the same result.

  • List the tasks: mowing, trimming, edging, cleanup, or other agreed work.
  • Clarify whether clippings or other debris will be bagged or removed.
  • Separate optional services and one-time cleanup from recurring visits.
  • Write down exclusions and conditions that would change the scope.
03 / BUILD YOUR PRICE

Use a method you can repeat.

Set your own rate from your costs, time, and business goals. There is no one-size-fits-all price.

  • Estimate setup, service, cleanup, and travel time.
  • Account for labor, equipment, fuel, disposal, and operating costs.
  • Adjust for access, terrain, obstacles, lawn condition, and visit frequency.
  • Price the first visit separately if it needs more work than maintenance visits.
04 / SEND IT CLEARLY

Make the next step obvious.

Put the details in writing so the customer can review and accept the same plan.

  • Include the property, tasks, price, and one-time or recurring schedule.
  • Explain how weather delays and requested extra work will be handled.
  • State how and when payment is due, and how long the quote is valid.
  • Ask the customer to confirm the scope before the first visit.
